Nine Members of a Family Killed After Car Plunges into Water-Filled Well in Nashik
Nine members of a Dargude family died in a tragic road accident in Nashik’s Dindori after their car fell into a water-filled well. The victims, including six children, were returning from a social programme when the incident occurred in Shivaji Nagar.
The tragic incident occurred on Friday night in the Shivaji Nagar area of Dindori city. According to reports, the car, carrying members of the Dargude family from Indore village in Dindori taluka, lost control and fell into a well located along the roadside. The impact and submersion resulted in the death of all occupants.
The deceased have been identified as Sunil Dattu Dargude (32), his wife Reshma, Asha Anil Dargude (32), and six children from the family. Among the children were five girls aged between 7 and 14 years, and an 11-year-old boy.
Authorities confirmed that the family was returning home after attending a social programme when the accident occurred. The exact cause behind the loss of control is yet to be officially established, while local administration and emergency responders handled recovery operations at the site.
The scale of the tragedy, involving the loss of an entire family across generations, has underscored the severe human cost of road accidents and raised concerns over roadside safety measures, particularly in areas with exposed and unprotected wells.
